Stripped of his Tour de Farce title and banned for 2 years for doping.

Way to go Alberto!

So exactly which top Spanish athletes right now can we be confident aren't doping?

i am saddened but not surprised by this news. He was fortunate to be allowed to race in the past years Tour. Just another black eye for the sport. I don't blame people for looking at cycling as a tainted sport. It is. They have the harshest penalties for even first-time offenders, but it just doesn't seem to matter to these guys. it is worth a possible 2-year ban to them. personally i think it should be a lifetime ban first offense, but even that won't stop it. last year alexandre vinokourov raced and was lauded on-air as a "great story" for riding well in what was his last tour without any mention of the 2-year ban he had a couple years ago, and here he is back out racing and being regarded as some kind of cycling legend. And he got caught red-handed.
