last night after a glorious THE PEOPLE'S HOUR COLON WE DO WHAT WE WANT (THAT = SHAKEN) we were treated to two hours with the score's big-voiced PROVERBIAL (not literal) redheaded stepchild, wayne randazzo.

the dude was on point. he's got his announcer's voice down (i wanna say he's the voice of the kane county cougars or something like that) and one thing he did during his show was offset the presumed low volume of calls by reading a lot of texts. but whereas, example, b&b are known to let stupid thoughts/calls through to support their overall narrative about meatball fans and to show off their relative intelligence in the wake of the "meatballs", the randazzler tended to read smart/funny/cool texts and it paced out really well.

sure there were guests and stuff, but the fun time came down the stretch run of the second hour when he and herb riffed on the miami face eater and other fun issues, discussed whether or not the bulls should be eating their opponents faces, and mulled over great trade offers from the garpaxes in the crowd such as trading the kings luol deng and the #29 pick for tyreke evans and the #5 pick. herb's "HELL NO" was resolute and LOLworthy.

of course, the show ended up with wayne talking baseball and the man knows his stuff... it was a good transition into less, where he just doesn't know his stuff he's literally sold some of it on ebay during the lean years cuz the man can hustle. lol. i've really enjoyed the two times i've gotten to hear wayne do a show because he brings this aura of intelligentsia with him to the air, and the result is something that i could totally see ending up as a national radio show within a few years. he's got the voice, the pace, and the overall knowledge and requisite wit to do something on the yahoo radios or fox sports radios or the new CBS radio ventures, that is, if he doesn't end up with a MLB announcing gig someday. if i ever am able to resurrect the expos i'll be sure to keep the randazzler on my short list of people for the english radio broadcasts =)
