Yeah, I'm just reading this now and it seems to be glorious. Skip has his pre-established talking point that Sherman, a vociferous player, is "nowhere near" the level of THE ALMIGHTY DARRELL REVIS (PEACE BE UPON HIM) and it seems that Sherman showed up with his Cam'ron-issue "YOU MAD" Jazz jersey/pinwheel hat, ergo he was only there to take some shots at Skipperoonie (who I give credit to for being a relatiely "hard working" troll, he used to come in on Christmas back when he was establishing his First Take brand)

Tell me if this exchange makes you think of anyone on the local radio front, say, doing a mid-day show from 1-6 on a leading Chicago Sports Talk Radio station...

Kinda like how Bernstein continually tries to bait his audience into expounding on his rivalry with them, but the audience often chooses to ignore this trolling in favor of trying to tackle the issue at hand, which essentially grooves a BP fastball right iinto Bernstein's wheelhouse where he's able to up the ante on his vocal inflection and start whining/yelling/exaggerating his pre-existing position (and how often does Bernstein change his mind based on anything a caller tells him, unless the caller is said to be a Lawyer, Doctor, or some other respectable profession who is of the caliber of quality human being (TM) that can afford season tickets in the lower dish of a sports stadium away from all of the great unwashed masses who stupidly cling on to their unrealized dreams up in the poor sections in the upper deck.

Of course, Bernstein is also aided by the fundamental difference in sound quality between the hosts (crystal clear) and the callers (tinny, lower volume, and obviously on the phone) and the fact that Terry has hitched his wagon to being Bernstein's echo chamber (sigh) and unequivocally/unquestionably agreeing with everything Bernstein says via a de-facto rubber-stamp (double sigh) because he's just along for the ride cashing checks til the gravy train pulls into the station (and god bless him for that, honestly)

Naturally, my vociferously verbose nature tends to be off-putting on a msgboard chock full of 1-2 line / 1-paragraph responses, but dammit, I'm on to something when I point out that B&B has essentially become Chicago sports radio's very own version of ESPN First Take. Instead of stirring-up/trolling arguments between the hosts, they've long realized that the BEST way to do this is stirring-up/trolling arguments with the listeners. Of course, this is very likely because sports talk radio is fundamentally built around taking calls from the great unwashed meatball masses and those TV shows are built around "debate" between the hosts, but still, it's the same damn principle. Look no further than B&B calling people idiots for saying D-Rose is coming back and therefore the Bulls will contend for a championship BECAUSE of not just the obvious, but DERRICK MIGHT NOT EVEN COME BACK, AND WE'RE OK WITH THAT --- to a few weeks later when Bulls Management supposedly comes out and postures like they think Derrick should be coming/back pretty much right now, and since Dan is a man of the chosen people (meaning business/owners, going the doctrine of the elect route here) now that management seemingly has maybe taken a stance on something, well, DERRICK SHOULD BE BACK RIGHT NOW. Any caller who is now OK with Derrick not being ready to come back is an idiot because THERE IS NO ARGUMENT HERE, Derrick should be back already (comma DAMMIT!)
