Well done

Its refreshing to hear someone on the inside point out the painful obvious truth about the Bernstein shadow over the Score

I agree about content too but even if I didn't just acknowledging what many would deny is pretty cool

Its not Lauremce either. Its every non descript Grote McKnight Joe O Goff and Drinky to an extent

And Bernstein is not the problem. The weak willed and confidence lacking followers are the issue. Certain people have big personalities but Mac, Grobber and Hanley seem to do just fine without the Bernstein Approval radio

One funny thought about this in regards to the North SCORE vs The Bernstein SCORE?

Were there North wanna bes? Cuz that sounds hilarious

I'd have to imagine to some degree Murph was a North wannabe. Same longshot status coming up there and I could see where Murph would be jealous. Other than that, I'm not sure how someone else could pull it off -- they'd need a Fritzy and some years behind them in order to develop the preconceptions about folks that North has.

There probably were until they realized it would require a lobotomy.

North, Murph, and Mac all took the same populist tack, but Murph handled his longshot status by over-committing to a pretty orthodox concept of what a sports radio host should be, while Pappy the lucky dropout sorta played with house money and just took Being Mike North as far as it would take him. And Mac, while still a man of the people, was still too much of a pro broadcaster to crash a presser and clown Pat Riley.

That's a pretty good thumbnail sketch of each guy and his career.

I actually think he's a decent listen as a sub. He's covered multiple beats and has some pretty good inside information, not unlike the Rotisserie Chicken.
