The Bears win the strength of schedule tie breaker. Leash I always took you as a glass half full type of guy.

How could a Chicago fan possibly be an optimist?

I've lived through the careers of Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Derrick Rose, Jay Cutler, and Jim Belushi.

The careers of Cutler and Rose are not over yet.

Unfortunately, neither is Belushi's :(

The Jets themselves called that timeout, The Great Marty did first and then #91 runs right up to the referee on the sidelines. That was a very fortunate turn of events.

Nas has gone from objective Bears fan (last year) to optimist (right after last year) to Bears PR guy (beginning of this year) to spiritual guide (right now).

I appreciate your entrepreneurial spirit, at least.

You should start a new thread to complain about it.

Each of my thoughts were distinct and remarkable by the rest of the board. I'm moving the chains at this place today

I don't necessarily disagree... but it's sort of like when a first down is granted from a neutral zone infraction.

It's funny because optimism is the calling card for the Cub fan. "Wait 'til next year!" But you can see the progression of the Cub fan in the members of this board of various ages. immessedup17 is very young and completely delusional. "Brett Jackson's upside is Mike Trout." RPB is on the younger side and still has his hopeful enthusiasm. badrouge17 is near my age and you just know he's gone negative, but he isn't very vocal about it. Than there's the real old guy like jimmypasta who is like a beaten dog and who laughs at the optimistic Cub fans. He's seen it all before.

Im closer to BadRogue. I argue here because its what we do, but if you actually take my posts on the cubs, separate them and get a read, Im extremely negative.

Cub fan eras shape these things too. I think there was a bit of a change in expectations after 03-04

Every generation gets jaded by a choke job I guess. Jimmy saw 69. Rogue saw 84. I had 03

But to answer Leash, Chicago has won 9 titles in the 4 major sports in the last 25 years. Not bad

Wow, that is crazy.

I was figuring we were going to find out he had some broken ribs or something from that hit. That was nasty.

As Frank said, the guy has his negatives, but toughness is not one of them.

True, but take the last fifteen years and exclude hockey (sorry hockey fans). Then you have one in 15 years. And for Cubs fans, the number is zero. I have not had a professional team I root for win a title since Jordan retired in '98. I have very few reasons to be optimistic about much.

We've had 3 in the past 9 years and we've had a lot of good teams.

That depends on what teams and sports you follow, broseph.

I've had zero in 15 years with 1 monumental disappointment (2003 Cubs).
