the newest chicago bear kevin white made it a point to multiple times thank "the man upstairs" for being selected to play in the NFL. now while most people assume that he's thanking god here, i noticed he went out of his way to say "the man upstairs" and not "god" twice in his first public speaking as a chicago bear, so i'm thinking that there's something else going on here.

don't most executives/owners have their offices on upper levels? i'm thinking yeah. so i'm thinking that instead of simply thanking god (as it'd technically be easier to do so as you'd say less words thanking god/allah/whoever) kevin white spoke in code to thank the management/owners of the bears for selecting him, because as we all know sports really happen because of the owners and executives because even athletes come and go.... and if all the athletes left we'd still gather 'round the tv to watch the competitions because it's the sport and not the athletes that we watch, so in that case it's all about the executives/owners aka "the men upstairs" who do the lord's work in giving us our entertainment.

that said, look for dan bernstein to be 500% on board with this pick and going out of his way to laud the kid because he didn't only technically blow past god when it was thanking time, but he cleverly made it a point to essentially thank the executives/owners upstairs for giving him a high paying job. if only tom thibodeau had a mentality like this he might be allowed to coach the bulls beyond this season.... c'est la vie!
