The Ducks are sloppy and the Hawks are timid. Truly the fruits of a 116-minute game tonight. Blech. Glad it's tied.

I guess we ran into the hot goalie.

Andersen is 102/107 (.953) in the series. Mike Smith all over again.

Opinion, not fact: this team looks pathetic.

Hawks look defeated out there.

I thought the Hawks were supposed to get all their shit efforts out of their system in the second half of the season. I didn't think they had any more in 'em.

Probably just going to be a Ducks empty-netter to wrap things up here. Demoralizing loss.

Can't beat Andersen. That's series. Not winning three out of four against a team this good.

The Hawks would be on the verge of a sweep if not for the crossbar. Pathetic showing.

That ought to do it.

Utterly shameful.

This sucks because after this, it's all over.

Back to your regularly scheduled playoff exit, I guess.

I am aware. I don't think they have enough talent to win two games.

Technically, it's just a 75% chance the Ducks win the series if they win, but they're not dropping 6 and 7.

My hunch is that with New York forcing a game 7, Chicago will not, giving rise to annoying Rangers fans talking about how the Rangers did what the Hawks couldn't and subjecting us to more boring Rangers games

Hawks are overdue for an elimination-game shitkicking. They've only been knocked out in less than game 7 sudden death by two teams under Q/Toews/Kane: the '09 Red Wings and the '12 Coyotes. With all this rhetoric about how you can never count the Hawks out and the Rangers winning last night, the universe feels like it's setting everything up for the Hawks to lay a big egg. My guess is they give up the first goal in the first five minutes and never lead or tie, but don't let the floodgates open until the third, ensuring that we all sit through ~45 minutes of frustrating suckage before we can find something better to do with our time

And let us not forget this piece of shit post by Kirkwood

Hawks are so fucked. This is the 4th straight game where the Lightning have dictated play and carried the game. This was the game where the Hawks had to go balls out but they literally have nothing left. The tank is empty. On the other hand, you have 18 crazed maniacs on the Lightning skating everywhere, snapping off crisp passes and forechecking the shit out of the Hawks 4 man rotation. The Lightning can smell blood and know they got the Hawks. They just need to keep on doing what they're doing as they're outworking the Hawks which has led them to get nearly every bounce as well.

The Lightning are making the Hawks really show their ass. More than a few times where the Hawks just couldn't exit the zone as the speed of the Lightning's forecheckers drove the Hawks into panic. Then when the Hawks set up in the Lightning's zone they did fuck all. All the Bolts did was pack it in front of Vasilevksiy since the Hawks defense is incompetent at lacing pucks on net. Every shot from d-men were wide or into shinpads.

The Hawks look too ragged and old. Never thought I'd say that but it's true. The Lightning are kicking the Hawks ass.

I watched some bad games this year, but they have a way of getting it done. 2010 was my favorite team, 2013 was my favorite win, 2015 is pretty cool.

Let it be known I've consistently said Hawks got this. Except for my prediction that this was going seven games.

In my opinion this was the hardest one. Tampa definitely the best of the teams they've played . Totally unexpected run for me this year . Awesome stuff.

I gotta say this one is the sweetest, because going into the season I really had no expectation of them winning, especially with aging forwards and the lack of third-pairing D depth. Throw in the Clint Reif death and all of the (alleged) scandal shit, and it appeared everything was aligned against them. I would have been happy to make it to conference finals; instead they find the way to win it all.

2010 - youth just running wild; we thought they were a year or two away, and they surprised us.

2013 - shot out of a cannon after the lockout, and we expected them to win it all.

2015 - High hopes but no Cup expectations.

I am not sorry for criticzing this team's dead ass effort. However, I nailed Blackhawks/Lightning call in October. So your welcome losers.

Chicago fans are the worst. Everything is over the top. One loss and the team sucks, fire everybody, never can come back, blah blah. One bad comment by an announcer, and he is the worst ever. One blown save and this guy's career is done or it was a bad contract. One game with 3 strikeouts and a popup and the guy needs to be sent back to the minors(of course in the case of Tyler Flowers, that is absolutely correct).

I get that sports are emotional, but Chicago has some of the loudest and meatiest of meatball fans.

How closely do you follow sports in other large cities? I can't imagine this being unique to Chicago.

Not terribly close, but I travel fairly often for work so I get to hear bits and pieces here and there. Cowboys fans are pretty brutal, but still I hear the most "fire this coach, cut this guy" type comments--- after just one bad performance-- here in Chicago.

So, uninformed brief encounters compiled into a stew of conjecture, confirmation bias, and anecdotal 'evidence' ... got it.

You could've just said you had no idea what the hell you were talking about at the onset and saved everyone the trouble of taking a moment to realize it on their own.

I do not remember this before the Jordan era Bulls. That as far as I noticed was the dawn of over analyzing every game to death. Maybe it coincided with talk radio I suppose.

As for this thread I can assume that Curious is happy to have been proved wrong and will take his arrows.

some cities have a uniquely bad fanbase, like atlanta or miami. but for cities known for professional sports, chicago is not much different except that the bitch and chirp extremes seem to *get on the air* more on sports radio talk shows. philly usually embraces bad sports thoughts but it's done in a jovial way (except for howard eskin, philly's version of bernstein). internet doesn't count as much. after years of being on IMDB and youtube, bad sports posts are no different than the drivel you'll see posted about other mediums.

and for any cubs fan who calls out another fanbase for being awful, after 2003 you really have got to look in the mirror more.

I have lived near Chicago, St Louis and KC.

All of them have been about the same. Fans are fans.
