Well let me by start out saying I was a dumb ass. Anyway, after you have fun with that I have a big thanks to TSA at LAX. I flew home last Thursday and was in the usual crowded shuffle checking in and security and all. So in all the kerfuffle removing my loafers and sport coat as well as putting phone and all else in multiple bins I placed my laptop in one.

Well, switch to Monday and I had no reason to use the laptop until I returned to work. Not there.

After thinking a bit I bet I left it at the security checkpoint. So I did the routine of contacting them and they really do have an awesome system. You email them and it starts. They gave me a claim number that they had it emailed me a form that I faxed today. Just received a fed ex tracking number that it is on the way back.

Ends well but in their message on the phone number it is a bit odd. If you lose it with them fine but if anywhere else in the airport or plane you are screwed it seems.

Did they tell you to give their compliments to Chus, pittmike?

Glad you got it back. That can be a nightmare.

LAX is less an airport than a refugee camp. Bodies covering every square inch of the floor in those vestibules that the gates branch out from, and this was at 2 in the afternoon on a Sunday.

He was wearing one of those jackets with all 30 NBA logos on it except some of the logos were out of date or wrong altogether.

I left my drivers license at a security checkpoint at ORD once. Got it back on my return trip -- no fuss, no muss. I went upstairs to a lost and found room on the second floor (cannot remember if it was in terminal 2 or 3); the amount of stuff in there was amazing.

Dear Michael,

Were you wearing a sport blazer?

Thank you.

Left my debit card at a bar in ORD on the way to Vegas once.
Realized it after I got home and needed to use the card then (yep, the trip to Vegas was that good) .

Tried to contact the bar, they never heard of me. Weird.
