yeah seriously can't cubs fans come together and genuinely appreciate the white sox for preventing a lot of the undesirable stereotypes of people from being cubs fans? if there was only one chicago baseball team (and many will tell you there is anyways) you'd have all these trailer-trash perpetually-negative miserable self-hating takes-more-joy-in-others'-misfortune-than-their-own-success assholes donning the red C and trying to get their tickets to the shrine b4 you do. you wouldn't have this group of undesirable people to constantly rag on to make you feel better about yourself (and the whole ~107+yrs thing) and you'd end up having a fanbase that's more open to stereotyping and mockery like the bears do (think superfans here)

simply put, without the sox/fans there to compare yourself to, you'd be distinctly sans pedestal to put yourself up on as the shining example of whats right in the universe of baseball fandom, that is unless you just went around calling yourself the best fans in baseball like cardinals fans do. ....and nobody wants that, right?
