There is so much wrong with this, besides incorrect spelling and capitalization, and the passive aggressive shot at Tiger. Rory was attempting to be the sixth man in the Masters era to win the career grand slam, and the biggest story leading up to the Masters was Tiger.

The game of golf isn't sputtering, and in search of a new star. Rory is the best player on the planet, and he is only 25. Jordan Spieth didn't just come out of nowhere, he has been on the first page of leader boards for two years now. There are many young stars on the PGA Tour, and if you paid attention at all, you would know that.

Just Horrific

What is horrific?
Walt is.

Even for SH that is a very strange quote. There are like 10 "new stars" on the PGA tour right now, and even some of the older guys are still playing very, very well overall (Stenson, Furyk, etc).

Spieth has unquestionably been the single best player in the world for the past 4-6 months, and it was great to see him get a green jacket. That said, the lead story going into Chambers bay will be Mickelson and his chance for the career slam.

There was a guy at our high school nicknamed "BAT". Bald at twenty.

That was me. I will always root for the prematurely balding athlete. That Spieth was able to overcome that sort of hardship is truly a profile in courage.

If I could play golf like Spieth and have even half of the bank account he has, I would not be able to care less about what my hair looked like.

I watch the Masters every year, along with the British and US Opens. I watched it more when Tiger was rolling.

Tiger got people to watch that were not normally golf fans. The PGA could use someone else like that right now. Spieth may get me to tune in more, but Rory is not a must see guy for me and others like me that are casual golf fans.

Sure, but I speak Scorehead, and with that statement he means that he is desperate for anybody to replace Tiger as the #1 star.

To suggest that the game is lacking young stars is way off base. Spieth, Fowler, Reed, Henley, D. Johnson (still only 30), Horschel, Koepka, and those are just on this side of the pond.

When Rickie Fowler was breaking on to the scene, Scorehead wanted somebody to push him into Rae's Creek during the 2012 Masters.

Why am I not surprised that you dislike Ricky Fowler, simply because of his wardrobe?

There's that, plus he's a complete Douchbag.

Scorehead, what else was it besides his wardrobe and hair that made him a douchebag? What has he changed since you have now warmed up to him? Or is the simple answer, that you are just full of shit, as usual?

One of the morons on Sports Talk Live just compared a minor league baseball player to the guy who set many records in the world's biggest golf tournament.

Also, congrats to Mark O'Meara who made the cut after 9 straight years of missing it, and his first rounds in the sixties since 2001.

I was hoping that Tom Watson would make the cut after shooting 71 on Thursday, but he shot 81 on Friday.
