To take a break from the trolling for a sec...

We knew we'd have one great team on the Northside but what the Sox have done so far is amazing. I didn't watch the entire game tonight but when it was 0-0 I just knew the Sox were going to win. That's the sign of a good team. I said before the season that this team could win between 72-90 games, that's how hard they were to predict. Will they better than the Cubs? Doubt it. Will they be a good team all season? I think they will.

It's going to be a fun summer on both sides of town. As a baseball fan who happens to live in Chicago, I couldn't be happier.

Now all you Sox fans do me a favor and kill yourselves. :P

So far the fanbases are tied 1-1 on Shoutouts to the other team. Let's see who ends the season as the more magnanimous fanbase.

Having both teams playing well definitely makes up for the absence of the Hawks and Bulls. Would be nice to see both teams fighting for the playoffs going into September

I don't think there will be much fighting. Both teams should have a spot wrapped up by September 1st.

I agree totally. Two winning teams in Chicago is good for baseball. I said on another thread I have enjoyed watching them this season. I really have. Cubs rainout and I can watch some really good baseball on the other side of the dial. Nice because I enjoy baseball.

This was a shoutout to the team, not their fans. We all agree that their fans deserve to die awful deaths.

Hold up, bro. Hillary ain't elected yet. The Sox got the bomb for six more months, so be respectful and buy some drinks.

Definitely am on board with eliminating the Chicago Bears section from the board. Should we appeal to bigfan or go above him to change.org?

and neither should you dear White Sox fans. This is a man who is attempting to jinx a great start.

The Sox have not even played a full month of baseball.

Quite a start. I usually visualize the Sox putting together whatever they are trying to do, Im generally pretty optimistic on them each year. But this is beyond even what I would have considered best case scenario.

And to do this without Abreu hitting yet is even more remarkable.

I'm happy for my friends who are White Sox fans too. Rick Hahn has done an amazing job.

I am glad they are doing all of this winning without a starting pitcher using steroids.

Or meth. There is a rumor going around that he makes his offseason home in Alsip. He probably knows Panther.

I am starting to dream bigger than this. How about both teams meeting in the playoffs this year? Arrieta vs Sale? Or my.

Sale and Quintana have been lights out, and while you can pretty much expect that of Sale, it's been nice watching Quintana take another step up. All in all, their pitching, 1 through 4, has been fantastic. With John Danks....ehh, eating innings, I guess, but there's no way he isn't replacement-level or worse.

Thing is...this team still can't score, get on base, or hit for power. They are still well below league-average in runs per game, which is fine with two dominant starters at the top and very solid third and fourth starters (so far, Rodon needs to get his walk-rate in check, his WHIP is 1.4), but if those guys start to level off, regress, or get hurt, this team can nose-dive in a hurry.

Jose Abreu needs a talking-to. You cannot have your first baseman turning in a sub-75 OPS+ through 22 games, especially when the front office and the manager are hell-bent on selling Avisail Garcia as a 79 OPS+ designated hitter.

But who knows, maybe the top of the bullpen will be able to keep up this dominance throughout the season, bail out the starters when they need to, and the Sox can Kansas City Special their way into the playoffs, but I'll still be hesitant to look longingly at a team that can't score at least at league average, especially after bottom-of-the-league scoring efforts in 2 of the last 3 seasons.
