Wasn't the story something along the lines of the Grizzlies owner being upset with Jerry West for not doing something in free agency so West turned around and signed Cardinal to the Jon Koncak/Hot Rod Williams type contract to prove a point?

I just remember there being about a 2 year stretch of Bill Simmons blogs where every NBA trade scenario involved Theo Ratliff or Brian Cardinal's expiring contract.

I think it was Silvy, who wanted to try to make a wager with Pete over whether the Cubs will win the World Series this year or not. that would be classic. Pete Rose making a bet on Baseball.....why not? Manfred has said he's not getting into the HOF while alive, so nothing to lose anyway. Pete has had a nice history of poor judgment, so the fact that he thinks the Cubs will screw this up is fine by me. Nomination denied.

Everybody does? Then why are the Cubs the favorites in Las Vegas to win the World Series? They should be 30-1 at least, if everyone knows they will screw it up.
