Agreed on the local races. I assume most of the uninformed people are just voting based on who's name they've seen plastered on the most signs in their neighborhood (especially when something like party affiliation does not play a role)

He's going to get extra credit for not kissing the ring unlike most of the retreads that will try again in 4 years. And he arguably had the best managed campaign of the Republican candidates this go-round. It's definitely a lot easier for me to envision him winning in that manner in 4 years than it was for me to see Trump's success at the start of this primary season.

it's Paul Ryan's contest to lose in 2020. He'd have to fall humpty dumpty hard to not be the guy.
