I don't know if they'll ever be fully dethroned because of how baseball is split across two teams, but I feel like the Bears' hegemony over Chicago sports is going to come to a close pretty soon, and not a moment too soon for that shitty operation. No one does less with more.

Yup. I've gone from eating, breathing, and sleeping Bears football as a youth and up until probably six years ago... and I loathe that organization now. Even if they were miraculously good, I don't know that I could get too excited.

I'm the same way but its only been 2 years for me. I didn't even realize that the first game was this Sunday already.

Stop lying to yourselves.

Meatballs like us will have full blown Bears fever the next time they start out 6-2

I don't know. Football is losing its hold on me.

Same here. Between the shitfuck Bears and the stupid rules that make the game awful to watch, its lost a lost a lot on me too.

It will get better when we get rid of Cutler. He is exhausting.

No, I really can't see that happening at this point. We've commemorated 1985 so many damn times that anything so much as approaching real-world-real-time competence can't even be appreciated anymore. Bears fans are like the science experiment where you stimulate the pleasure center of a rat's brain over and over until it can't eat or play or do anything enjoyable but press the bar for more stimulation, except instead of an electric current straight to the brain, we have a neverending series of TV documentaries.

If the 2017 Bears go 15-1 and win the Super Bowl, it will absolutely be HUGE.

Yeah, well, they won't. They'll just go on missing the playoffs as usual and talking about what a hallowed franchise they are. At least when the Raiders do that, they've won more than once and been there more than twice.

Bears fans are like the Cubs fans in that way I guess.

And the Raiders will be a playoff team this year.

Come on, dude. I realize Cubs fans get a bad rap, but Bears fans are ten times worse. Cubs fans have at least accepted that they are historically losers. Cubs games, to many hardcore fans, are nice background music for the summer. If they ever stop to talk about the Cubs, though, it's a hodge podge of negativity and "they'll always suck." (real fans, that is) Bears fans seem to live in a world that doesn't exist and where the Black and Blue division is alive and well and the Bears are just one piece away. They don't realize that the Bears have been trying to air it out and modernize themselves for decades with nothing to show for it other than the most laughable draft history in the modern era of sports.

Raiders had a strong 10 year run with terrible drafts that's comparable, if not worse probably. They seemed to have turned that around though with Carr, Cooper, Mack, etc

A Cubs fan declaring that he won't jump on the bandwagon of a team he has lost interest in because of losing when they finally start to win...

Congratulations, Chicago Bears! You drafted marginally better than a decrepit, cancer-ridden autocrat whose only criterion for drafts was 40-yard dash time. Way to go, Mayor Daley!!
