Funny you should mention this. My daughter is fourteen and just discovered the Beatles. She's also discovered the Monkees....she understands the difference between the two, believe me....but I think I've seen fifteen Monkees episodes in the past week.

I didn't remember Nesmith having such a silky Southern accent. Sounds like Love.

mix in some Kinks. Kids love singing along to Lola.

i never knew Nesmith had such stellar post-Monkees records. One night at the Hideout a downstate pal of Jay Bennett's, Edward Burch, played some solo michael nesmith and the first national band and explained how their records were some of the first that'd fit under the rubric of alt-country.
