Beat Indiana yesterday, fortunate that Indiana is missing its two best players, but still a big win for NU.

Looking very likely that they will make it to the big dance for the first time in their history, an achievement even more impressive than the Cubs winning the WS this year. Think about it, its a helluva lot tougher to not make it to the NCAA tournament for 80 years than it is to not win the WS for 100.

It irritated me how they kept that loser Carmody around for 15 years and everybody made excuses for that chump. It's hoops, you only need one or 2 guys to change your program.. They are a lock to make the tourney finally.

They need one nice win. They really do lack a quality win. They'll still be a bubble team without one of those but probably in.

It would be cool if Collins stuck around and turned them into a perennial winner/tourney team.

As long as they win the games they should they are fine. Lose to Purdue, Wisconsin, Maryland, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue ; Win vs Illinois, Rutgers, Illinois again would make them 21-10... they'll win the first round of the Big Ten tourney, and lose in the second and they are 21-11... traditionally a team with a win/loss like that in the Big Ten ends up being a 9 or 10 seed... it would also seem unlikely that they are going to lose all six of those games, so I think they are in pretty good shape.

I think they'll get in. That is a bubble team though in a down conference with no quality wins.

If they lose 3 of the next 4 that will put them squarely on the bubble.

NW with a loss that will haunt them last night. If they lose these next two games they are clearly on the bubble.

Six games to go and they look like a lock for the tourney, even if they lost in 1st game in the big 10 tourney.

They would be a bubble team if that happened, and I wouldn't be confident they go 2-0 against Illinois and Michigan either.

The committee is going to have a big problem with their lack of quality wins.

I think they will get in but there is no way they are a lock right now.

Yeah but they sucked. I think it's a bigger deal to get a win like this when you are a good team fighting for an NCAA Tournament bid.

I'm sorry I missed this. They were doing good last year around this time then collapsed. Hopefully,this continues and they get their top scorer back for Maryland.

They took out a pretty good Michigan team in the 90's. Might have been a fan 5 team but not sure. The cats had a competitive team in 94-95 season when they went to NIT and beat DePaul in the first round.

No.. wasn't fab 5 but I do remember talking about the game with my brother in law at a Christmas thing and being pissed I missed it.
