Honestly, this will backfire badly in November. How do you think this will play in MO, ND, MT, WV, etc. where Dems are defending Senate seats
Say hello to a 55 seat Republican Senate majority, which means goodbye Obamacare since that repeal only failed by 1 vote.
In Missouri, trump has already tried to put his thumb on the scale against McCaskill, which I think may backfire.
And the other seats are held by blue dog dems who may be safest of all.
Manchin only won WV in 2012 by taking very pro-gun stances. He has since reversed them. He is toast in that state.
As for MT, a candidate who assaulted a reporter on the eve of the election won the at-large congressional seat. I don't see any scenario where the Dems win that seat.
As for MO, McCaskill is a pretty weak candidate who only wan last go around because her opponent was Todd Akin. All the GOP has to do is nominate someone who isn't a complete retard.
These are all states where guns are very much in favor so running a national anti-gun campaign is going to cost the Dems any chance of taking the Senate and would more likely give the GOP a larger majority.
