Amazing mom. I went through a lot raising my kids. They were streetwise military brats from a broken family. They got into a lot of trouble. At one point, I put my son on PINS. Another time, I had my daughter arrested and I took her to court because she had been violent with me. There were many other times but one big one was that I told my older kids, 18 and 19, that I was not going to put up with all of the problems that they caused me anymore. So, I was moving and they would not be going with me. I gave them 30 days' notice that they needed to find jobs and apartments. They did.

Sometimes tough love is important. This mom knew what to do. It is sometimes hard but she wants what is best for her son and that isn't holding up people at gunpoint whether or not the gun was a BB gun. She loves her son enough that she wants him to go in right directions instead of winding up in the system. Oh do I know a lot of people in the system. Their parents didn't care what they did or they didn't know to use tough love.

My adult children are all successful now because they learned right from wrong and that doing wrong has consequences. That is the only way to handle really bad behavior. Even other behaviors need to have consequences. I learned that in the Navy.
