Juice's Lying Notes What evidence could possibly have which suggests more than that?

So your answer to me pointing out you being disingenuous in lopping off decimals to make NFL audiences appear smaller is to ramp up how disingenuous you can be and call an NBA Playoff game a "show of the NBA season"....when your original bitching started in March?

And then you call me a liar?

You just lied about 11 million. You are a liar

In 2017, the CBB championship game averaged 23 million viewers on cable. Game 5 of the NBA finals averaged 24.5 on ABC. It averaged 20.5 million for the series. That's not a big difference when you talk about cable vs network coverage. When CBB was still on CBS it was beating most NBA Finals games. Anyways, the larger point is that college basketball isn't that important that NFL coverage should be shelved for it even if the NFL is in the off-season.

However, this year I'm sure the NBA Finals will beat the CBB title game but this was an all-time low for CBB given how lopsided the title game was and also it being on cable.

Simple question lying notes.

ECF final average ratings

NFL draft average ratings. Who wins who loses?

That seems like a very fair and logical statement. I like the NFL a lot more than the NBA, but I hardly pay much mind to the NFL after the Super Bowl. I'll keep tabs on the draft and some of the big off season stories, but there really isn't a ton to talk about day to day.

I enjoy the NBA playoffs and watch quite a bit of them.

But non-Chicago regular season NBA chatter is pretty meh to me.

Who started the thread linked below?

I'll give you a hint. The same idiot started both of them.

That idiot is you. Deal with it.

You started this thread, too:

viewtopic.php?f=128&t=111647&p=2932152&view=show#p2932152

And you started the thread we are currently posting in now.

You. Started. This. Discussion.

This is your favorite trope. You start railing on something through multiple threads, people get sick of it and engage you, you show your ass repeatedly, and then start with your self-aggrandizing nobility bullshit like "I don't want to talk about this, I'm just the only one that isn't afraid to discuss it, that's fine".

No, you jerkoff, you started this discussion, and you are furthering it, and you are wrong.

You are though. You are using the Game 7 Finals ratings as a barometer of how much interest there is in NBA talk(two months after the discussion) so when that Game 7 LOSES to a pretty bad college basketball final on the same network and we know that there isn't much room for college basketball talk on the radio(especially two months prior to the title game) then it shows that your whole point is meaningless.

I understand and agree with all of that. I'm a big fan and I get why the national stuff is off putting particularly when it is Lebron Centric. I wish they'd cover other teams and other players more but I understand that.

My issue has always been McNeil's fallacious argument that NFL off season stuff is "must listen radio" and "no one cares about the NBA" so that is why I don't have to talk about it. That even as he attempts to talk hard Hawk hockey. Others on here have picked up on it and they never miss a chance to bash the league. Even popping up in NBA threads talking shit. If it isn't your thing it isn't your thing but quit presuming to speak for everyone.

It's not fair because it is ignoring all the facts and figures I painstakingly laid out. The sheer size of NFL fandom means that national NFL topics will always beat out the national NBA regular season topics in terms of thirst for media.

Stop and look at what you are writing, and tell me that any of it looks rational. Settle down. Beyond the numbers, you also have a bad argument because you are discussing national TV ratings as a way to judge local radio talkshow content. The hosts were talking about the potential of an exciting receiver possibly being available, which is a position of need on the local team. That's literally a big reason why local sports talk radio is successful - trade speculation talk for local teams.

They talk plenty of basketball. They have NBA experts as regular guests. If you want a show that only talks basketball go to Sirius. Your entire argument is absurd.

Now you are speculating again. The numbers are what they are and your interpretation of what they should be only demonstrate the level of bias that you have towards the NBA. You can't even discuss it without "woke" and "bae" being a part of your conversation.

I say this to say that I am not anti NFL either. I was once a huge NFL fan. I tired of it due to the oversaturation of the product. The Score was one of the bigger of the purveyors of this. After awhile I stopped listening to it because of it. Coverage of the NFL when the games aren't being played is boring. Especially when you have the other 2 major sports going full throttle.

If I had to guess, general sports fans want to hear the NFL above all else even the out of town stuff. The NFL has the biggest interest from a fantasy, gambling, and game level interest. There are so few games relative to the other sports, that each "event" has a much higher meaning. The other sports need four wins to pick their champ, while the NFL has one grand event. Everything about the NFL is bigger.

Some hosts like to talk hockey, some NBA, some baseball, and some a combination. None of the other three sports move needles like the NFL. And for me, the NFL is my third sport, but I enjoy that chatter the most.

It's really no reason to get so worked up about it. Plenty of stations on the dial, podcasts, or streaming services.

Some on here are worked up that there is even interest in the NBA at all. You're right about that. I stopped listening to the score years ago as a result of it. I'm not into hate listening either. I'm good. I just find other things to do like Listen to ESPN or NBA TV for my hoops fix.

I think it's pretty obvious what sells in this order.

1) NFL year round.
2) MLB in season and during peak trading times.
3) Any major sport in or near the Finals.
4) Big events in the other sports like horse racing or head punching
5) Little League World Series
6) WWE
7) TV shows
8) Movies
9) Silence
10) Regular Season NBA
