Agree it wouldn't been more ballsy to do this 3 years ago.

Still impressive in a league where even fringe players are loathe to rock the boat.

It took balls to do what he did?????????????????????????

What took balls were the men of all colors that hit the beach of Normandy or waded through a swamp in Viet Nam.

Stand for them!

And that's a risk he seems willing to take.

It does take balls to speak an unpopular opinion when that could cost you your job.

Speak your mind if that's how you feel.

What will cost him his job is his inability to play QB

He wants it to cost him his job. It might prevent him from getting a new job though his awfulness might do that as well.

I find it interesting that he said it would be selfish of him to not take this action. Does that mean every other NFL player that has an opinion on this issue similar to his is selfish?

Also interesting that he has such strong feelings given his background.

I don't really care if he stands or not but there are stronger statements he could make if this country no longer is working for him.

I don't believe that is always true. I am in no way a flag-waving patriotic true 'merican, but there is a time and a place, especially when you are a very public figure in a very public league that is viewed by many as the 6th branch of the military.

What ever point he was trying to make seems to have been completely lost. Besides not standing up, what else has he done to advance the cause of oppressed African-Americans?

At a minimum he could actually get involved with the protests. However if he really doesn't have pride in this country to the point of not wanting to stand for the anthem then he should find a country that treats people better.

I wish people were as outraged about what Kaepernick is outraged about.

I do think Kaep is a BLM troll, but the unsurprising racist trolling on Twitter towards him is so much more fatiguing.
