Another word of advice. Take a TON of pictures of your wife and the kid. Get some of yourself too. No one ever said they took too many pictures at this time.

Also, within the next week document as much as you can remember about the whole thing and put it someplace you can easily get it in digital format. It can be something as simple as sending your wife an email. You will be happy to read about the stuff you otherwise forgot later. It's amazing, especially when tired, how many things you forget about that you are reminded when you read it later on.

If possible take a picture every day on your cell phone. It's pretty cool to visually see how quickly they change.

Yeah, and make sure it is backed up automatically. Also, spend the money and get a phone with a good camera if you have an old phone. I thought I had a good phone and then when we upgraded it was great how much better the new pictures were.

He's great during the day, not so much at night. It's been a struggle to get some sleep, but overall we're doing well and everybody is happy and healthy.

After I had my first kid, I had to stay at this shitty job and take it up the ass figuratively to feed the kid for like 5 more years than I should have. You sometimes have to grin and bear it to sacrifice for your family. Luckily I got out of there. Very toxic. But I'm not the only one who had to go thru that in life.

it's just frustrating because during the day he'll sleep for three maybe four hours at a time. Once we put him in the bassinet at night, it's like a whole different kid.

My daughter would wake up twice a night like clockwork. About 1:30 am & 4:30 am. My wife took the "first shift" and I took the 4:30... I was waking at 5 anyway so it worked out.

Eventually, it went down to once a night and then she slept through the entire night. Only problem with that is you or your wife will wake and check on the baby several times out of habit/concern. :lol:
