I'm totally cool with them dropping the anthem before sporting events anyway.

Whether people agree or do not agree with Kaepernick's decision to not stand during the National Anthem, I think we can all agree that his actions will result in dramatic change.

That every second Kaepernick spends sitting down is time that should be spent damaging his brain for the amusement of Dan and his children.

My point is I don't believe that the National Anthem is a place to prove a point or protest. There are other options a guy with 114 mil can take to get his voice heard.

At a minimum he could actually get involved with the protests. However if he really doesn't have pride in this country to the point of not wanting to stand for the anthem then he should find a country that treats people better.

Love it or leave it is very un-American

Dead on, love your freedom, just be sure to express it in a manner deemed appropriate by others.

Yep... make fun of the guy all you want, but save the "you should like it here or find another country" stuff. I think Tad's point that this won't actually accomplish anything is probably true, but the dude has the right to do it.

The dude has the right to incite a crowd of 60,000 people? What happens of some "patriots" leap out of the stands to make their point with Kap? A riot can break out.

New NFL POLICY : Everybody Stands!

The military vets you claim to respect so much fought and many died to protect the very freedom this db is using.

I'm continually amazed at how the people who wave the flag the most are so against the ideals this country was founded on.

Who would be the "other attorneys" of your metaphor when at the ballpark? The other people at their seats, the PA system, America? I would be fine with not shaking hands with America at a business meeting, because odds are they have fucked me, are about to fuck me, and/or are in the process of extrajudicially killing people.

I don't stand for the anthem, and I particularly enjoy being the only one in a throng of people in the stands not standing, mostly because I too see it as a figurative handshake with "America", the construct and all the actions of its physical manifestations, and that is something I don't feel comfortable engaging with.

Many people focused on how well Kaepernicks life has gone like he has no right to speak on oppression

Can I not speak out against rape or human trafficking because I've never been a victim if either?

I understand what you are saying but a guy with his cash can do plenty with in the community to find solutions. I know it's a free country and he has rights,I just get angry when anyone disrespects the flag. That's just me.

Based on what he said it is accurate. It's ok to say that maybe you should find some place better if you are saying what he does.

When someone complains about the state of Illinois plenty of people say to find another state. Somehow when a millionaire athlete has no pride in this country it becomes some un-American thing to say maybe find a better country.

Kaepernick can speak on whatever he wants, but it doesn't take a genius to grasp why he is easily dismissed on this subject.

Which parts of America do you feel comfortable engaging with? The parts that get you fat on cheap fast food, allow you easy access to reasonably priced big screen televisions, and provide you with a platform to blab nonsensically on a message board on a daily basis?
