False!

Great America has Goliath (and maybe Raging Bull) when you consider top tier "thrill" coasters.

Magic Mountain has X2, Tatsu (their version of a taller, faster Superman), Goliath (their version of a faster, taller Raging Bull), Twisted Colossus, Scream, Escape from Krypton, Green Lantern, Viper (their better version of Shockwave), and Riddler's Revenge (better version of Iron Wolf). They also have Batman: The Ride which is the same layout as Great America but it goes faster. They even have a coaster called "Ninja" that at first glance seems like a slightly better Whizzer and yet it ended up being even much better than that.

I'd have to imagine only Cedar Point would be better than Magic Mountain.

Hmmm. You're comparing a cartoon specifically developed for children...with the main characters being children... to 'thrill rides' that have height restrictions so that children are not allowed to ride?

IMU is very deep. I remember when we all got the family together to watch that kids show, "The Tracy Ullman Show". It was just like "Sesame Street". And then Fox, one of the most family friendly stations out there, gave "The Simpsons" its own show. Better than PBS. Of course, PBS gave us "3-2-1 Contact", "Reading Rainbow", and then we could wrap it all up with "The Simpsons". Just rolls off the lineup.

Amusement parks like Six Flags and Cedar Point cater to adults, yes. Just look at the amount of 'thrill rides' versus how small the 'kids section' is at these places. Maybe the last amusement park you've been to was Kiddieland. I could see where you're coming from in that case.

I don't know anyone my age that watches The Simpsons except the people on this board. I cannot even recall the last time anyone mentioned The Simpsons outside of this board at all...I was probably in junior high.

Maybe this board easily attracts those who retained their junior high sense of humor. Guys like Someguy.

i actually watched a few Simpsons episodes last night, FXX seems to air it 24/7....the one where Marge becomes a real estate agent

i think you don't hear people talking about it anymore because it should have been off the air 10 years ago or more. I could understand if the recent years sully the legacy of it to some. But to minimize how good it was at one time is foolish

I'm not trying to minimize how good it was. I'm sure the children loved it.

Children's cartoon watching evolution:

Backyardigans -> Arthur -> Simpsons -> Family Guy -> South Park -> Archer

I've never watched The Simpsons. I was forced to watch a couple episodes of Family Guy. It is fucking terrible. However, I believe it is intended to be "more adult." I believe the punchlines have more depth than "doh" or "aww man!"

well since you've never watched the Simpsons and only forcefully watched a few episodes of Family Guy, perhaps you shouldn't be making proclamations about either

back before Adult Swim took over the Cartoon Network, it was a Thursday/Sunday night thing only:

Space Ghost Coast to Coast:

https://youtu.be/ju3StUrjmbc

Sealab 2021:

https://youtu.be/F6ROXLtorwY

Home Movies:

https://youtu.be/EF4FGHflvHQ

ATHF:

https://youtu.be/xu0eu4ziWLo

The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman, Venture Bros,

then Celeb-death-match-inspired Robot Chicken debuted, followed by Squidbillies...Adult Swim become a regular thing on the network.

Why would anyone watch the Simpsons or Family Guy before any of the above shows.

Oh boy. That is an argument worse than anything you and me have ever done.

By the way, anyone know where my kid can get pictures with a bunch of Looney Tunes characters?

The best part is that by IMU's logic, Disney World is for adults.

Disney World is a Disney theme park. The attractions are mainly focused on children.

Six Flags is an amusement park focused on thrilling roller coasters. The Looney Tunes section at each Six Flags is not even a tenth of the park.

That being said, isn't Frank the world's #1 Disney World fan?

Disney has many rides with a height requirement.

Most of them are somewhere between 40 to 50 inches.

Disney World encompasses the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollwood Studios, and Disney Springs...and it is for adults as much as it is for kids.

Not sure how many kids are boozing it up in Epcot, Hollywood Studios, or Disney Springs. Plenty of after hours piano bars, clubs, and bars at Disney...not for kids.

32"-48" ride restrictions, depending on the ride.

Disney World also encompasses about a dozen different themed resorts, 4 golf courses, 2 water parks, and several lakes for boating and other watersports.

Some of it is geared to kids, some to adults, some to all ages.

Now all we need is IMU to proclaim "I have never been to Disney World, but....."
