I've always argued they should. When I became a sergeant I never UCMJ punished my soldiers who drank underage. Some pushups and we were even.

Ok, If in the military(under 21) they can drink a beer whenever they want but have to lock up their AR-15 on the base. Deal. See this is what compromise looks like.

9 states have anti-discrimination laws prohibiting discrimination based upon age in a "public accommodation" (the Civil Rights Act neglects age as a protected class). Dick's has locations in all of them.

Curiously, the Illinois statute specifically defines age to be someone 40 or older, which in and of itself raises equal protection concerns (imagine if race discrimination statutes defined "race" to be specifically "minority" instead of just practically being used in such a manner).

Let 12 year olds buy rifles.

All private firearms have to be locked in the arms room if you live in the barracks. You have to call the armorer to come in and get your gun if you want to go shooting on the weekend (good luck).

Married soldiers on post housing can keep their guns in their home. Off post housing is the same obviously.

I'd be in favor of soldiers being able to buy/consume beer only on the post/base if they were under 18. And not driving.

I'm in favor of compromise for issues but not rights outlined in the constitution.

States can pass age discrimination laws dealing with public accommodations, though. Nine of them have. Dick's is discriminating based upon age absent the need for compliance with federal or state laws (at least in the 9 discussed here) setting a minimum age for buying/possession.

It's funny that Fake Lawyer really thinks that Dicks could get hit with Age discrimination lawsuits. What about the fucking rental car industry? Cute. Indeed.

From what I understand, they stopped selling AR's at Dick's after Sandy Hook. They never restarted selling AR's at Dick's.

Their hunting and fishing chain of stores, Field & Stream, always sold AR's, until now.

If caring about American lives is publicity, then I hope all businesses chase publicity.
