Celebration of a zombified demigod and his subsequent poorly explained ascension to heaven and its difficult to grasp correlation with bunnies and chocolate and whose entire concept is somewhat derivative in the first place isn't doing it for you?

Jesus at least could have been resurrected on a weekday.

Not being a particularly religious person, I've never cared for it anyway. Many bad memories of the day for me as a kid.

This this recently change? If not, how the hell did I miss this?

I've only been a sporadic Mass attendee. More like some faith, not really a religious person.

And btw, Happy Birthday!

I feel like Krueger every time you post something about religion.

Your belief system is fascinating.

What belief system is that?

There are three different beliefs that you posted right there.

Each fascinating in their own right.

If you have a moment, please explain why you believe these things.

Thanks for recommending this—just watched with the family.

Well a reanimated corpse is often referred to as a zombie.

The ascension of Jesus is vaguely described. And its certainly not an experience unique to Jesus.

Eggs certainly long predated Christianity as a spring equinox gift symbolizing rebirth, the chocolate part is somewhat baffling but the egg part is just another in a long line of Christian derivative narratives.

Anyways nice chat

I hope the easter bunny put a pizza in your oven while you slept and didn't take it out.

I know we have a few respectable religious members on the board so I'll try this a bit differently....

I hope everyone made the best of the day....for Christians, this is an important holiday on the calendar.

I'm not religious....grew up with it and just don't buy it. I respect the structure and values prescribed. I respect that 95% of people who practice do so with honest and sincere integrity.

I actually very much enjoyed being home with my immediate family and having no part of the extended family. I smoked a turkey, wife made a cheesecake and a bunch of other stuff. Drank some PBR and enjoyed a nice cigar.

Arguably one of the best days in this mess of whatever you want to call it. If you missed being around your extended families....I can understand....that sucks for most people.

Had fun with our two kids at home.

Got to socially distance Easter with our other children locally

Got to say hi to our grand daughter from six feet away.

Got to make fun of Cub fans taking pics in front of Wrigley.

Great Day

Thats a very good response. NOt everyone believes what Christians believe. Some do not believe in anything regarding a Supreme Being or God and there are different religions and belief systems around the world. Its perfectly okay. As long as we do not attack people because of their individual beliefs and they don't attack us for ours, its a cool world.

For me personally this is the first time in over 50 years that we haven't shared Easter with family together so I was kind of bummed. We did conference with our kids and stuff but it just wasn't the same. It was kind of just another day except for a great meal.
