You have a serious point with this. Those 'safety' cameras can take a clean photo of a license plate but the shotfinder cameras produce a pixely mess that is reminiscent of scrambled 1990s porn.

It can be difficult to recognize the speed limit just went from 35 to 25 while going downhill. Driving 30 on an empty major street at 10:55 pm is difficult too. After all, the cameras are supposed to be for the safety of kids at schools or parks. I've never gotten a daylight ticket. With the assistance of Waze, I haven't gotten a ticket in months.

We had one red light camera in my area, people bitched about it and they took it down. A speed limit camera is outright bullshit.

I'm surprised there wasn't more outrage from Chicago residents when that started happening. The school zones make sense, but there were speed changes along Grand Ave. that made no sense. Part of it was lowered to 20 and I got a warning for going 30. The sign change was at one of those 12 way intersections along Grand that you are praying to every God imaginable while driving through. I think Lawrence had similar changes.

We had cameras in my area about 10 or so years ago. My son drove my car one day and a stop light camera got him. The car was registered in my name so i got the ticket and didn't even get notified of it. then I was in my auto insurance's office and he asked me about my ticket?? I didn't know shit about it.

I don't know how they are handling this crap in your area now, but it took a lot of work on my part to get that ticket off of my driving record and onto my son's., especially since the place where he got the ticket was in another town, another police department and city hall. A real pain in the ass.

We got a warning citation in the mail after coming home from The Globe months ago. Forest Preserve Ave. surprised it was just a warning. Of course it was the wife driving.

This. They don't count as a moving violation because they don't know who is driving. Rather, it is like an expensive parking ticket. Is it possible it was not paid timely? If so perhaps then they threatened your driving record?
