HIGH on the list of "things you never knew existed". I don't even think Seth MacFarlane would touch this.

yah, fuzzymemories.tv has been around forever and a half with a shit-ton of videos/clips that hearken back to a better/simpler time in chicago media history.

i personally mark out for stuff like the old METROMEDIA THIRTY TWOOOOOOOOO commercials/bumpers and that vintage ~1972 CH7 chicago christmas special. that kind of stuff is hallowed in the memories of the increasingly few who remember it, so it's that kind of sentimentality that leads me to saying that youtube (representing the broader concept of a place like this) is one of the top-5 communications inventions in human history.

Here's a brief commercial for Children's Bargain Town U.S.A., promoting a sale on Huffy Bicycles' 20-inch Dragster for boys and girls for only $28.87. Note a reference at the end to Toys "R" Us (of which Children's Bargain Town was a Chicago-area sister chain). Eventually the Children's Bargain Town name was phased out and completely replaced by Toys 'R' Us.

I seem to remember a p!ace called Dispensa's Castle of Toys with the witty jingle " Come to Dispensas Castle of Toys, Oak Brook Terrace ,Illinois. Also had an amusement park Dispensas Kiddie Kingdom. Anyone verify this?
