My expectations were for the offense to look like shit because the offense is shit.

So, they pretty much nailed that for me.

Shoutout for a Bears QB exceeding expectations. It's been a while.

Was the expectation to lose? Because we have had alot of that as Bears fans.

The expectation was that the QB would be bad and lost. That was not the case.

He lead the team to 7 points, RPB. You get the ball 1st & goal after a turnover, and you better score a TD. I don't give credit to the offense for scoring a TD that was basically gifed to them after the muffed punt.

Claussen can easily be a backup in the league. The Bears moved the ball a little bit, but didn't score near enough to win.

He was average and lost.

He did everything people have been saying Trestman needed Cutler to do - don't turn the ball over, don't hold it too long, go through your progressions, take what the D give you - he did it all...and the offense scored 7-ish points.

Trestman's offense sucks.

Way to go, Marc, you signed your own termination form.

Laughable that you would assume a touchdown in that situation. Have you not seen the previous QB not convert chances like that?

You're focusing on Trestman because you dont want to admit how wrong you were about Cutler and that Cutler is the problem,

Trestman's offense was fine with McCown and would have been fine yesterday without terrible drops.

Not to mention that Claussen played without the #1 receiver who pretty much bails Cutler out of an interception or two every game.

Every scoring drive the Bears had was a gift by the Lions. They did everything they could to keep the Bears in the game. The offense doesn't score without help from the Lions. I am embarrassed as a Bears fan that anyone would celebrate what #8 did.

The last time he had the chance to do so was in Detroit on Thanksgiving. Jared Allen recovered a fumble at the Lions 5 yard line. Next play was a TD pass to Jeffrey.

I didn't give credit to the offense for that score either.

Laughable? I am sorry I expect an NFL team to score a touchdown from 1st & Goal at the 7 yard line.

The Bears took the ball away 3 times and only had 7 points off of turnovers. Sure they are a bad team, but some of you guys are making Claussen out to be a Godsend. Even Joe Buck was slobbering all over him.

The offense looked better. Which is good, but honestly they couldn't have looked worse than they did against the Saints. They were still bad overall and the Bears lost again.

The most embarassing thing about Bears fans is that some of them are still apologizing for Cutler like a beaten woman excusing their abusive boyfriend.

Could they have looked worst than they did against the Saints? They literally had nowhere to go but up.

Record wise, both the Cubs and Sox were better in 2014 than they were in 2014, but they were not good teams were they?

I was completely wrong about Cutler. I thought he could take his game to another level based on what he did last year. I was wrong. So, it isn't about that.

Just because it looked good over a year ago doesn't mean the NFL hasn't figured out exactly what Trestman has been trying to do this year. It isn't working. Not to mention all the other problems Trestman has in running a team and apparently a practice or meeting.

This offense sucks. It didn't look good yesterday. People just hate Cutler so much that they want to believe that was some kind of improvement. They looked worse yesterday than almost anytime this year. Drops and all - they've been happening all year.

I would rather have a better rebound than the guy wearing #8. There isn't enough alcohol in the world to make him an attractive option.

Agreed...this signed Trestman's termination form, but as you mentioned he did what Cutler cannot and that's avoid turning the ball over.

He's nothing to get excited about and is a backup at best. What he did do was expose Trestman, Emery, and Cutler. They should ALL be gone next year.

Claussen's passable performance just reminds you how far Cutler has fallen.

Im not sure Trestman's offense sucks. Hard to judge since Cutler hasnt been running it all year (according to his teammates)

I thought Clausen did what he could. There just wasn't much there. But, this sucks (below). And the only major drive was continued by a fortunate penalty.

He should have taken some points early in the game, too.

Trestman's offense might not suck, but its certainly been figured out and he hasn't adjusted to it.

The Bears had 1 touchdown drive yesterday that- as Nas reminded me of-- was sustained due to a roughing the punter penalty.

Trestman's playcalling has been just mind boggling as well, which does not do any favors for Cutler, Claussen, or anybody else that might be under center.

Case and point, first series of the game yesterday. Two quick screen passes, one that hits Bennet in the hands and he can't catch (only the 963rd time thats happened this season), and the patented 1 yard bubble screen to Jeffrey. I thought it was actually smart to start with two easy passes to attempt to get Claussen in a rhythym. So its 3rd & 9 against one of the best run defenses in the entire NFL, so Trestman calls a run up the middle. Just incredibly stupid. I mean that wouldn't even work on a video game.

Most of the blame should go to the receivers (Jeffrey specifically)

Where are the quotes from Cutler's teammates? What about the screen passes were less predictable? Was it Forte getting more rushing attempts than he had in the past 3 games combined? Was it the receivers not know where they are supposed to be? Was it the 250 total yards of offense? Was it the great 4th down play for a backup lineman?

I think many of you are underestimating how much Cutler did his own thing this year.

Do you think Kromer said he's killing the offense by not checking out of runs because its not true?

Or Cutler's teammates expected Claussen to light it up simply because he'll run the offense?

What you saw this year was the Jay Cutler offense.

Insane ramblings of a Cutler apologist.

Claussen looked better than Jay has. It's that simple.
