Unless you can provide a link where you wrote fake dialogue for the parties involved, I don't believe you.

This nonsense is all much ado about nothing.

At what point did it become wrong for a man to express his admiration for a woman's voluptuous breasts? Absolute silliness.

Off the top of my head.....

Some of the early Ditka shows
North and Michael McClaskey - "Say something else that's really silly."
HFC recapping Mike Murphy's 69 Cub reunion - "Give it to me Nate."
HFC's Dexter Manley intervew. It was sad and fascinating all at the same time. He was talking about conversations he had with Marilyn Monroe.

Remember, Sir is the guy who was outspoken about Tommy Williams....after he left.

dude is a lap dog and this is nothing more than a permutation on the long running theme of trying to be the girls friend

Quit the station? Hell, you joined the station that had Hug A Black Day.

This is comparatively small potatoes but it gave you the impetus to quit. Dubious.

GD, i'm not going to say you're in trouble or anything, but i'd heartily recommend for at least the next 2-3 months you take the stairs as opposed to elevators. trust me on this one.

Absolutely nothing wrong with it except for:

1) He is a public figure making these comments on a public forum that can be retweeted throughout the world
2) Companies can now discipline employees for comments deemed inappropriate via social media
3) It is Dan, who rails for progressive issues and has no problem jumping on someone for comments

If it was Mully or Hanley who made these comments, there would be backlash but on this board, the level of joy being expressed at the criticism of the host would be significantly less.

Have we ever heard a story of him taking one of his students under his wing who was not female? Ever?

"This is not a safe place for a woman to work?"

Really hard to hear that at the same time Lara Logan goes in the hospital. THAT is a journalist laying it on the line.

Good point. That story was comically self serving.

Exactly. That is what is so deplorable about what he said yesterday. Sits there every damn day during tranny and hears Bernstein objectify women and make fun of the speaking ability of black people and NOT A WORD TO BERNSTEIN. He would laugh at the racism and sexism sometimes.

He was thinking about quitting? What a fuckin' grand standing, sanctimonious jack ass when the wind changes. Only when the wind changes with him.

Laurence at least had the courage to speak.

I will give him total credit for being the only one to talk about it and the repercussions of it...other than that, I am still waiting for his thrird though on the 3 hour pregnant puase!

Does he regurgitate food for them? because I can see how that may be misinterpreted with a guy.

If and when this blows over, guess what? Larry will once again laugh at racism and sexism from Bernstein.

I'm not writing that in a vacuum. He actually sat there and implied he stood up to them concerning both guys. He didn't outright say it. He said he sat in when they were talking about them...and words hurt. HE DIDN"T SAY THAT TO THEM AT THE TIME

yesterday during his discussion of the topic.

It seemed to me that he showed more anger at management and was more outraged that other people at the station will get hurt for Bernstein's actions

It was a strong statement, it really was. Then he comes back from commercial and walks it back. "I'm not giving up on Dan". That was pure CYA because Bernstein gives not a fuck if you have confidence in him. He has been clear about that.

I believe he was saying that since Dan does not go into the locker room or interact with media personalities outside of hosting duties, he thinks he can say anything without repercussions. Laurence and others (Jay Z, Rongey, etc.) bear the brunt of anger over Dan's comment from athletes and media.

Laurence is being hypocritical because he will never confront anyone face to face, like not saying anything during crosstalk with Dan and waiting until Dan is not there. He broke bad on North, T-Dub, and Murph once they were not at the station anymore.

Hope that clears it up

It seems Larry was breaking news about Comcast ditching Shoe and not allowing SCR at pressers or anything like that.

He did say some strong things, but again, after the people were well gone and then walked it back.

He was also typically Lawrence indulgent in his pithy examples of how woman have a difficult time in the industry. I agree that they do. Using Bernstein as an example of the hostility in the industry is weak and really detracted from the point. Same thing with "a professor said I wasn't pretty".**

You know a good example of antagonism towards women? Two stations with no women playing a role either as a reporter or host. No women as producers. One woman doing updates.

Also very ballsy of Laurence to go after Bernsie when he already knows Dan will not be in the following day.

shaken

Sorry. Just saw GD adressed that on page 2.
