In the interview he said he's gone through all of the tests to get it done. Because that's required before a Hospital/Doctor will do it. So I think he did it.

I think "regular" people who have been living like this for the last 20 or 30 years are more courageous. They had much more to lose than a wealthy celebrity who likely doesn't have to worry about losing his job, family, or friends.

Bob the insurance rep. couldn't show up to work one day in 1985 as "Roberta" and have everyone fawn all over him/her. I'm guessing that wouldn't have gone over too well.

there's already a show called "becoming us" (executive produced by ryan seacrest) premiering on abc family i think. it's about a dad who transforms into a female and how his family, including his teenage son, handles it.

i agree with TQ though; the guy can only be some sort of an inspiration for others to feel like "if he can do it i can" but in no way do i think that a guy with tons of money and status is being "brave" by doing this. it's only brave if you have something to lose.

As good a time as any to rewatch the season one episode of IASIP "Charlie Has Cancer" ...
