Actually, on reflection, calling your boss a cocksucker probably is protected speech but that doesn't mean he can't fire you for it.

Nobody is restricting her freedom of religion. She is trying to impose her deeply held religious views (for four years anyway) on "teh gays".

No, she's not.

She asked to be exempted from having to give the licenses because it was a conscience issue for her.
She asked for an accomodation, and still hasn't been given one.
And the licenses are still being given. And they are using her name on the license still.

You tried. I'd say everyone in the thread was actually pretty understanding. He doesn't give a shit. He's right, and 99.9% of others are wrong. Great talk.

Wording on the license issued Monday was altered to remove any mention of Davis or her office. Instead, a section of the license now states that it was issued pursuant to a federal court order rather than the county clerk.

Seacrest is arguing in favor of Sharia Law. Interesting.

I understand the position of you and many others, but it contradicts the free exercise clause guaranteed by the 1st amendment.

So...change the Constitution, or just sit back and aceept whatever we end up with when decisions are made without respect to the rights of others.

Eventually, you may very well end up with Sharia law. But it won't be because of my position on this.

No one is forbidding her being a practicing whatever she claims to be.

What they ARE asking her to do is to take part in something that her religion forbids. All she has asked is to be exempted from it.

I don't know how that is so hard to see for you as well.

And as of right now, she is exempted from it, no?

So why is this still a thing?

Her name isn't on it, and same sex couples are getting married. Everyone wins.

How do you not see that she's not doing what she is legally obligated to do? If you can't do you job due to religious objections that you just discovered when it was convenient for you to discover them then you shouldn't get paid for the job and you shouldn't do it.

She's required to uphold the law. If she can't because he just recently decided on an excuse for bigotry then she should quit.

God is amazing. The people that decide what his rules are are almost always completely fucked up in the head. Sickening. I've bloody had it with the Christians and pretty much everyone involved with organized religion. You people took a wonderful thing and completely fucked it up with your own prejudices and opinions and claim that's what God wants. You should be bloody ashamed of what you've done to Him and his message. It's shameful.

May god have mercy on her, and your, soul.

"What her religion forbids..."

That's the funniest thing ever. She's such an incredible hypocrite it's sickening. She's a lifelong sinner who now feels she can decide what God wants. What a fucking joke.

I didn't say how god feels about you. I prayed for his mercy for you.
And are you claiming that she's not a sinner? I distinctly recall you saying that literally everybody was a sinner.
Even were that not the case, are you claiming that marital infidelity and conception out of wedlock are not sins?

Seacrest, I can do this all day. You know why? Because your religion is downright illogical. You can't argue logic when the subject matter is literally illogical. You can't win. Your only defense is head in the sand.

Starting with the first question, I'm not aware where sins are literally ranked from worst to first.

There are venial, mortal, and eternal sins. I don't agree with how some are categorized.

You keep saying that.

What is illogical about my religion?

Well, the concept of gods word interpreted by man, who is not capable of understanding his glory, is in and of itself a paradox and truthfully a considerable contradiction. And, knowing man is fundamentally flawed, by his very nature, and of course original sin, being charged with recording His word as "inspired" by God, being without prejudice, is yet another glaring contradiction.

In other words, if the bible is the work of man as inspired by god, it is as flawed as man himself, which is to say that it must itself be flawed.
