I'm curious if anyone has ever been to Huck Finn in Oak Lawn on Cicero. I drive past there all the time, but have never stopped.

Other than being open 24/7 Jeffro, Huck Finn is horrible overrated. It's so bad that The Organization will not even go there for a review. Not even if the meal was comped. It's in the bylaws.

Yep, been saying for years that the proliferation of Dunkin Donuts has single handily ruined the perception of donuts in this country. DD is horrible, there is no other way to describe them. Yet for probably 99% of the people in the USA that is the only donut they've experienced so they don't know any better.

Now we are starting to see a growth in legit donut stores, especially in the Chicago area, and people are starting to experience what a real donut is supposed to taste like. Not just taste, but smell. I was walking by Glazed and Infused while they were making the donuts and I was like, damn what is that amazing smell I've never smelled before? Oh wait, that's what real donuts being made smells like? 45 years old and never smelled that before.

DD boston cremes are disgusting, just like everything else they sell there. I'm sure the boston creme you get at any real donut store would make you question how you ever came to utter the phrase "I prefer a DD boston creme.."

DD coffee is phenomenal. Donuts from the best pastry chef in the world are still donuts, which means they suck. Get the fuck out of here with sweet breakfast food.

I think maybe I should stick to saying how much I like good beer, because that I'm pretty sure I do know.

My mind and palate might take some convincing to NOT like the DD Boston Creme. Their coffee, just meh. McDonald's coffee is just as good/bad. My favorite coffee for the matter, is Dark Matter.

By the way, from my personal interraction...Spaulding is quite sweet.

My problem is that the only place to really stop on my way in is DD...I don't like McDonald's coffee...and DD Bagels are terrible. I can usually make due with a chocolate glazed donut...

I don't eat a whole lot of sweets, but admittedly, donuts are a weak spot.
