It's a horribly written story. It starts saying that the Vatican confirmed it and then immediately says that the Vatican didn't deny it.

Later, it says it was confirmed by some Glenn Beck organization by a receptionist.

Now, it could be a receptionist who is authorized to give proclamations on behalf of the Vatican. But, it's difficult to find international public relations professionals who can also answer the phones with a pleasant speaking voice.

But they didn't. The quote in the story says that they "won't deny it". I get it. It probably happened.

But, not denying something is not the same as confirming it. They seem to use as evidence that they changed the quote from "neither confirm nor deny" to "won't deny" (although I question if that's right also or if they just are reading the same quote differently).

In any event, using the removal of the portion of the quote where they talk about whether they would confirm it as evidence of confirming it seems...not logical, Jim...to me.

Still not seeing the relevance here. Gay people exist in pretty much all large groups of people. Does donating to any charitable cause mean you aren't a bigot?

But, lets go with this line of thought. I assume you are saying that HIV/AIDS is a gay related disease. I disagree but I do have to ask why it is ok for the church to spend money on a gay related disease but you don't think it is right for religious organizations to be "forced" to spend money on birth control.

What is the difference between donating to charities for the medical treatment of gay people(your stance) and paying for birth control of your employees? Aren't they both "complicit in the provision" of an immoral act?
