The spectacle of self-promotion and idiocy that was LeBron's exit to Miami will forever keep him in my Turd Hall of Fame. I hope we never see something so bizarre and egotistical again.
And it's the only major mistake in his career. He has been under the microscope since high school. That single event rubbed MANY people the wrong way. But let's keep it in perspective, given the immense media attention he draws.
I have a lot of respect for the way he has handled himself. And he righted a wrong with coming back to Cleveland and winning a championship.
He also had his "my life is better than yours, you stinking masses" post loss speech
I take nothing away from the dominance and NBA greatness of Lebron. I'm sure he's even a likable guy. Everything about him being under a microscope since HS is true. I get all that.
That being said....he selfishly abandoned his home town and the team that drafted him, to take his talents to South Beach because he felt he'd have a better chance of winning a championship. He had every right in the world to do that. However, making a media spectacle out of it was an absolute middle finger to the city of Cleveland. It was salt in the wound. the media did not over hype that one...HE DID. It was a douche move and any person with an ounce of common sense would have known it was in poor taste...and I do believe Lebron is a smart guy.
I don't follow the NBA and I don't care about Lebron. I'm not angry or bitter. In a lot of ways, I guess he did right the wrong. I don't really care....it was an all-time douche move THE WAY he went to Miami and I'll always think of him as a douche. Fuck Lebron.
