October is only a little ways away for even more!
I wouldn't call it a great season. I'd call it a very meh season compared to the past 3 years. Capped by a very meh tournament overall. Not nearly as many cool stories or great games as the previous 3 seasons. A deserving champ is debatable as well if Virginia wins considering the controversial way they advanced on Saturday.
This season suffered due to a weak and injured freshman class. Only a very small handful of freshman did anything this year. Overall, the talent level at the top took a serious nose dive this year as a result. Last year there were several freshman who were must see TV (Bagley, Trae, Ayton, JJJ, Sexton, WCJ, SGA, etc). The year before we had Lonzo, Fultz, Markenan, Tatum, Jackson, Fox, Monk, DSJ etc. This year if you look at the top 10 freshman draft prospects only Zion, Morant, Barrett and Coby White had good seasons and were must watch appointment TV. The lack of talent in the freshman class dragged down the level of competition quite a bit.
Edit: Just realized that I was responding to an old post, but the point still stands about this season being a down year.
