The point isn't that it was his fault or not.

It is the result of those gaudy statistics. Statistically, Marshall is approaching hall of fame numbers. He has been on four teams. None of them have ever made the playoffs.

He's either the unluckiest guy in the history of football or his numbers don't tell the whole story.

Brandon Marshall had an elite season. Are you implying that his presence on this Jets team was a reason in them not making the playoffs?

No.

I'm saying his impact is not as large as his statistics indicate.

Even the Bears offense improved when he was less involved, and it improved this year too.

Can you provide those stats? Not sure you're wrong, but would like to see what you're looking at.

It looks like the Bears dropped a little this year towards the end so it ended up being equal to last year.

The emergence of Jeffery is what really got the offense to click. Marshall wasn't even the leading receiver here except for one year.

Neither did the great Don Mattingly, who some around here believe should be in the Hall of Fame. :D

No he doesn't. It sounds like he is full of shit. He's full of shit and full of excuses too.

As are the Score hosts who don't have a cross word to say about their newest ex-Bear analyst who cracked a teammate's skull at a firing range, or who intimidated the hell out of the locker room for over a decade, or who wouldn't operate out of the shotgun (& frightened the QB & coaching staff into acquiescing).

Of course this is the same ex-Bear analyst that has nothing to offer & will be maligned by the face of the Score as a "problem"/"bad teammate"/"with anger issues" once he's no longer paid by the station.

I think the fact that a guy with Hall of Fame numbers is playing on his 4th team in just 10 seasons is a huge red flag.

I'm sure that I did. Fred Miller sucked and was hurting the team.

I'll add in.

5) Took shots at the Bears after he was traded.

This all points to him being horrible to be around as a Bear.

So, that is 5 total reasons. I will not provide more. If that isn't enough for you to think it is fair to think that Marshall was a locker room problem then I won't ever convince you.
Didn't he also throw his good friend Cutler under the bus?

He did. If Matt Forte is criticizing you then you're probably a problem.

No.

This is a faulty argument to make. You can find a lot of RBs and WRs who had great careers with very minimal postseason appearances or accomplishments.

It's fair to judge them too, especially if they have zero post season appearances with multiple teams.

1000 yard seasons with 4 different teams....pretty impressive. I know he didn't always seem to be 100% focused on football last year, but I think his down season had more to do with injuries than anything. he had a great year and is deserving of the Pro Bowl bid he received. That said, I don't blame the Bears for trading him. he seemed to put himself before the team, had spoken out against teammates (including Cutler) and I think he and the team were both better off that he was moved.

Marshall is a great example of shitty homer reporting. When on the team he was reported to be a good guy who only the kicker hated. When off the team, Dickerson said and I think this is pretty much the exact quote "there's not one guy in that locker room who was sad to see him go."

Marshall claimed today he didn't talk to Cutler for his last year here in Chicago.
