If you are comparing Cook County city living to Cook County suburb living, I might agree with you. But once you get out of Cook, I think the argument starts to loose weight.

ok....these posts are all stupid! here is an idea...to each their own ! if you want to live in the city...live in the city. burbs? Burbs! Just shut the fuck up and don't try and sell me on what is better. That is asinine. This board is better than that. It reminds me of cubs and sox fans arguing about "their" teams. suburbs folks...of which I am one have made solid comments...and city folks of which I am not make great points too.

Must be the lull between football and baseball. Why do people always want to project their wants and desires and "happiness" on to others? Sort of like the married with kids...or single with no kids "thing"...where people try and tell others with no kids that kids are the best thing ever...and yadda, yadda, yadda.

Live & let live!

By the way...I'm on vacation and far - far away from the cold and snow you Chicago & suburbanites are dealing with! My "zen" is at its peak! I'll be back in the shit soon! Hold down the fort boys!

Why do people always want to project their happiness onto others?

The shoutout wasn't that the suburbs were better. The suburbs were getting shat on the past few weeks/months and the record had to be set straight.

Yup. They love to look down us from their concrete and metal towers. It was time for those who live a lifestyle that isn't based around public transportation and folding chaired parking spaces to stand up for our suburban utopia.

How is freedom limited every other weekend? You have a vacation house?

Bros, the Stylie is all about the 'burbs but sometimes you just gotta fuckin' chiggidy check out the city. My bros and I can chillax in the Napes or Schamby but holy fuck sometimes it's good to check out all that city ass.

Speaking of which, fuckin' Troy is total weaksauce sometimes, brah. Like he's trying to chase this totally cray bizatch, Natalie Oakanfeld, and he takes us to fuckin The Violet Hour in Wicker Park. Can't even bring in a cell phone...the shit is that? The chicks were pretty hot, no doubt, but it was like...I felt like Adam Sandler who just needed to bust out as Little Nicky or some shit. Fuckin' dumb, and not only that, Natalie wasn't even there that night.

Now, Brendan is bangin' this chick, Aimee Wise, that we knew back in Naperville North but she only went sophomore year...then she got huge taddies and moved to fucking Arlington Heights. She goes to UIC and hooks up with Brendan's bro Chase...but Chase is a fucking clown and goes abroad...never fuckin see him again. So now years later they hit it up and now they're fuckin' fucking. Ridic, bromeisters...if that bitch tries to take us back to that goddamn Violet Hour or some gastro pub that I've never heard of, i'm gonna bring back Icing hard core so I can ice the shit out of Brendan for reals.

Grilling outdoors on a grill you own!
Get whatever lawn furniture you want!
Covered parking for at least one car!
Driveways big enough for a basketball hoop!
Dairy Queen!
Covered parking for as many as two cars!
No parking meters that were sold to some foreign country!
So little crime the cops can be concerned with writing speeding tickets!
Covered parking for up to three cars!
High schools with greenhouses, and swimming pools, and huge fieldhouses with a $0 tuition rate!
Less parallel parking!

You sound a lot like my 85 year old mother-in-law from Palatine. On the rare occasions when she comes to our house she always has to mention that "it's so congested in the city".

I get that the suburbs aren't for everyone. Cars can be scary to drive and many people in the city can only figure out where they live because of the fact that the place they live looks completely different than every other place in the neighborhood. It's ok.

Plowed side streets
Malls!
Much less jaywalking pedestrians to hit your car with
Golf courses
Forest preserves
No infestation of terrible pretentious “gastropubs”
Every place has a drive thru!
No bike lanes for awful bicyclists
Dramatically less slow ass buses blocking traffic every 2 blocks

This guy gets it. Good to see he hasn't bought into the false propaganda.

So basically, the appeal of the suburbs comes to convenience in operating a motor vehicle.

The majority of the pro-suburban features in this thread are related to driving and/or parking. And God forbid you get out of your car to get a hamburger! You know what the best part of the suburbs is? Attached garages. One can get into his car inside!

It is but one of the many great things about living in the suburbs.

Nah, just most noticeable.

Actually very common in suburbs b/c parking beside the building is widely available and not 6 blocks away for $1 every 30 minutes.

They are so sweet. You're underestimating their greatness.

Don't be so hard on him. Not everyone is lucky enough to live a suburban existence.
