Erstwhile forum friend of mine bounced around Athens GA, San Antonio, Asheville, and elsewhere in the Southwest/Southeast. Would have to watch Bucs games in sports bars. Once said that without a doubt, the loudest, most inscrutable fans at any given bar were always the Bears fans, who were prone to shouting, groaning, and just making sound at either inopportune times of the game or for no apparent reason at all. Said that the various northeastern transplants were just as loud and dumb, but at least their noises seemed to make sense in context. From what we've seen at Soldier Field over the years with false starts for the home team, I've never even tried to refute the anecdote. Just the thought of it, guys screaming "DAAAA!!! GEEZ!!! URLOCKER!!!" in the middle of, like, a timeout or something still cracks me up.

You keep saying things like this as if they will be true if you repeat it enough (Scorehead vibe). The Bears aren't exactly the Patriots here. The Lions have been better on the field in recent history. They just hired one of Belichick's lieutenants away from the Patriots to run the team, instead of foolishly promoting from within, as they always did. The Bears upper management is about as inept as any in the league, and it looks like they just screwed up another draft, while the Lions look to have drafted well again. If telling yourself that makes you feel better, then by all means, continue. This comes from a Lions fan with two feet firmly on the ground, not one who farts rainbows.

the bears are 8-8, 5-11 and 6-10 in their last 3 seasons. not exactly something to lord over lions fans when the lions have gone 7-9, 11-5, 7-9 in their last 3.

I make noises like that at my son's soccer game. I wear sunglasses so my son doesn't see that my eyes are closed the entire time.

The Lions are meh. I know this. But, the idea that the Bears are a far superior organization is just silly. Matt Millen and Marty Mornhinweg are long gone.

The Lions may be slightly ahead of the Bears in the past 3 years but they haven't won a playoff game since 1991.
