He certainly is having an excellent year. Wonder if he will reconsider retiring? It's a no brainer he'd have many offers at 1M+ guaranteed. |

He is making $2.5M this year and has made $20M for his career. I don't think $1M is going to make him reconsider. |

Grandpa is on his farewell tour I think the team believes Contreras will be ready next year (if not later this season) to take over at catcher as the back-up to Montero, if not as the primary catcher. He's probably ready now. But there is no spot available on a team 19 games over .500 and why would you change things when the pitching staff is doing this well? But I can't see the team holding him back yet another season. |
