![]() First American to win all 3 of those trophies. When you take it into context and really think about what he had to overcome at the start of the season it wouldn't be a stretch to argue that we just witnessed one of the most amazing individual seasons in sports history. |

Great player. Great man. Everyone should be happy for him. |

Saw his article today where he essentially called Kane a rapist. This one? Quote: I'm not going to spend time getting mad that Kane got the Hart. Morally, him winning is extraordinarily bad. But if we're going strictly on the ice, which we clearly are, it's tough to make the case that a 106-point player didn't deserve it. Fine. I don't like it but I get it. What I absolutely do not get is the idiot loser piece of garbage bozo who voted Kane first on his Lady Byng ballot. One imagines that we will never find out who submitted this ballot, because that guy (we can very very reasonably assume it's a man) would get a whole lot of angry tweets and emails about it, and the PHWA takes significant pains to protect the worst actors in their ranks. But this guy should be outed by the PHWA. He should be subject to scorn. Because any argument you want to make in favor of Ryan O'Reilly being a worthy nominee is, like, several hundred orders of magnitude less capital-p Problematic. How you make that argument is unconscionable. Kane is a great player, but that doesn't make him anything resembling a good person. Guys get Lady Byng noms for being high scorers while keeping their penalty minutes low. Kane had 30. That's pretty low. AND SO IS HE AS A HUMAN That was Ryan Lambert, another guy who passionately defends women so that he can ask them to rub their toes on his dick. |

Hard to say for sure considering they played such different positions. But Chelios has his name on the Cup three times, was the best defenseman three times in an era that had Nicklas Lidstrom as a competitor or teammate, and played 1,651 games in which time he was a meaningful contributor to his team through his age 46 season. Kane needs another scoring title or two and a whole lot more seasons under his belt before he can pass Cheli. I'd already put him ahead of Modano, though. |
