Look, I know its easy to be a sympathetic figure and get all syrupy during a speech given whats happening to him, but motherfuck if he didn't nail it at the ESPY's. Makes bitching about an incompetent update chick or deposed board founder seem a little trite, if only for a night.

Only the most cynical would poo poo a guy who's dying. Seems like a genuinely good dude. I'll check out the Espy speech.

The ESPYs most popular moments are from people dying. I guess that is because they offer that public forum; I can't recall any of the other awards shows doing it on a yearly basis. And they don't have someone every year, but when they do it is a very visceral, impactful thing. I watched Jim Valvano's speech earlier today and I'm sure he was going through all sorts of stuff at the time, but to have a legacy that raised $150M+ in funds has to be something that is very comforting to the surviving family members. Most of the show is basically junk, but the Jimmy V award is still a must watch every year. Sager did great, and I hope for nothing but the best for him and his family.

Sager always cracked me up with his outfits, and I sympathize with his disease.
There are also a lot of poor people out there with cancer. He has a voice, and I applaud him for using it.
I'm not even trying to be playa hatin......but there are also children who can't even articulate what their cancer is doing to them.
hashtag thanksalotGod.........

I'd like to believe even Baby McNown would like Craig Sager, but then again I'm a dreamer. This should be a universally supported shoutout.

Agreed. I see no reason to knock anything this man is doing.
