Magic Joe did it with Castro last year and Heyward this year. All he has to do is sit a player and the player is reborn |

Except when the Cubs lose in the NLCS, they will not be able to trade away Heyward to fix everything like they did Castro. |

Player's didn't seem too thrilled about dressing as clowns after a tough series loss. All that shtick by "good" managers eventually wears thin. Also, the honorable Cubs holding down Hammel's innings to prevent his option from kicking in is sure to go over great with the "family" (players). It's just business. |

Sox fans: endlessly entertaining. I'm so glad they don't care about the Cubs. Lols. |

I was at the game yesterday. I really had a wonderful time with four of my longest time friends, one of whom had fallen away recently. Thank you Joe Maddon bringing her back to us. |

His music is always good to bring you back to thinking about Glory Days. Sometimes I forget that I have female friends. This one even has an obscure connection to the board. |

good dolphin wrote: Is the bear hovering above them to note they, at best, are the second most popular team in town Baseball being the only sport in which there are 2 top tier (not WNBA or Minor league hockey) teams in the professional ranks in town competing for fans, to be the 2nd most popular team would have to be considered a great accomplishment. While the Cubs are competing for the most popular spot, the Sox have to be at the other end of the spectrum. Perhaps the least favorite? The Bears may have just had the training camp with the least interest in recent years. Part of the reason is they will probably be a poor team again this season. But the Cubs playing really well and creating tremendous interest in their team, has to also factor into it. I find plenty of fault with Maddon's game management at times. But he seems to get the best out of his players and they seem very loyal to him, so he's doing a lot right. |

good dolphin wrote: Is the bear hovering above them to note they, at best, are the second most popular team in town I don't know if they'll ever be fully dethroned because of how baseball is split across two teams, but I feel like the Bears' hegemony over Chicago sports is going to come to a close pretty soon, and not a moment too soon for that shitty operation. No one does less with more. |
