I mean, they probably don't win if he doesn't come back right? He totally changed that lineup.

Completely changed the lineup and games. What he did is unbelievable.

Love him! Love the budding legend! Still can't play the field...which kinda sucks.

He is a stud. Hit like that in the World Series after not playing all year.

Crazy good.

No, they don't. Having the timing and bat speed to catch up with MLB pitching after not playing all year is almost unbelievable. #2016

Looking forward to him getting 500 at bats next year, I don't care how shitty he is in left.

I think the biggest question with Schwarber is whether the knee can handle any catching at all, even 2-3 innings at a time for 1-2 days a week during double-switches. If he can do that, he effectively takes Ross' spot on the roster for next year.

I've said all along that Schwarber's comp is Brian Downing, which sounds insulting until you remember that Downing played nearly 20 years and had over 2500 hits. Downing also was a catcher who suffered a lower body injury which forced him to the outfield and then DH.

One of the MLB Radio guys said this morning that the 2017 Cubs are likely to have a lot of guys with 450 PA, with only Rizzo and Bryant and maybe Russell having the typical 600-650. The team had 6335 PA this year, 7 guys with 450+ and Contreras who would have if he had played the full season.

I would never let him catch again, he's a DH that will masquerade as a left fielder~ First baseman.

If that's the case, then Joe is going to have to get used to an 11 man pitching staff, because Schwarber is going to bat either 1st or 2nd and get double-switched out after his 3rd or 4th PA every time they're winning.

Yes you did. You and I were among those who were steadfastly against trading Schwarber in a deal for a closer, while many like IMU were very much in favor of moving him in a deal. So looking forward to seeing what he can do in a full season if he can stay healthy.

Third highest postseason OPS with a minimum of 50 at-bats after Gehrig and Ruth.

Also, shut up, Steve. I'm tired of reading about your predictions.

I'm glad there's an "11" in that record because it can remind us how many years ago it was.
