completely staged. There were less faces of color at Wrigley throughout the entire playoffs than they showed in a 1 minute commercial |

I'm not a south sider burdened by some of the social baggage of Sox fandom. If you want to have fun today you can play a game of Where's Waldo with African American fans at the Cub parade. I'm downtown and there are a lot of people here in the 7 o'clock hour. |

Joe Orr Road Rod wrote: Yeah, fuck Jack, Vince, and Lou. Celebrate the mercenary from St. Louis. well let's be honest here, the demographic they're trying to appeal to has that harry-based-nostalgia from, what, 81-98? 82-97? something like that. they want the ~30somethings who have tangible childhood memories of harry caray calling cubs games. the people who remember jack vince and lou are probably getting up there in years and less likely to drink... and those who do aren't going to have their brand loyalty changed by a nifty little future-retro commercial and all that. this is still the definitive harry caray cubs/bud commercial. i'm sorry but that's never changing.... no matter how many millennials/nu-cubbies-fans you wanna show me getting emotional that the cubs won a world series, this will forever be THE cubs/harry commercial. |
