Congrats Cubs on your 5 days World Championship! Welcome to the footnotes of history. In 50 years the only way the Cubs championship will be remembered/talked about will be at the end of a radio broadcast when they say "also that month in history the Chicago Cubs won the WS for the first time in 108 years." |

They were revered almost instantly. They were a national phenomenon spawning SNL skits and they turned their coach into one of the most famous people in America. It's not like they suddenly became a huge story after Bears fans got nostalgic for a time they were good. |
