A nice benefit of not consuming traditional media is not being subject to the same amount of political bullshit.

There's really only one reason why election season this time around was so toxic. Races are usually dirty and get annoying but not in the way this race did. Hopefully it's an anomaly.

I hate to say it but I think this sort of political discourse is here to stay. I think television is to blame. People want to be entertained more than they want to be informed. Trump was viewed early on as entertainment gold and the media simply rode the wave. He received so much attention that none of his competitors could gain traction regardless of their policy positions. 2 billion in free media.

I think that the public has to decide what they want as far as their politics goes. Can't complain about the discourse when they select a rambling buffoon as their candidate. Didn't want the wonky guys that drone over policy and put the world to sleep. Give us the ignorant bomb thrower who will say just about anything because he or she views politics simply as showbiz. Well if that's what we want then that is what we will continue to get.
