So, that turd juggler Peppermint Patty invites herself and several other people over to Charlie Brown's for Thanksgiving dinner and then has the nerve to complain about the meal that a dog, a freakin' dog, cooked for everyone. I don't know about you guys, but I'd be pretty impressed if a dog made me popcorn. Anyway, Marcie appreciates what Charlie Brown and Snoopy did to accommodate them and tells her what's what.

Peppermint Patty: [appalled by Snoopy's Thanksgiving dinner] What's this? A piece of toast? A pretzel stick? Popcorn? What blockhead cooked all this? What kind of Thanksgiving dinner is this? Where's the turkey, Chuck? Where's the mashed potatoes? Where's the cranberry sauce? Where's the pumpkin pie? Don't you know anything about Thanksgiving dinners?

Marcie: You were kind of rough on Charlie Brown, weren't you, sir?

Peppermint Patty: Rough? Look at this! Is this what you call a Thanksgiving day dinner? Did we come across town for this? We're supposed to be served a real Thanksgiving dinner!

Marcie: Now wait a minute, sir. Did he invite you here to dinner, or did you invite yourself, and us, too?

Peppermint Patty: Gee, I never thought of it like that. You think I hurt ole Chuck's feelings? I bet I hurt his feelings, huh? Golly, why can't I act right outside of a baseball game? Marcie, maybe you could go to ole Chuck and patch things up for me. Maybe you can tell him how I really feel. Tell him I didn't mean it the way it sounded. Marcie, you can do it. You go and see him and tell him I really like it and I think the dinner's okay with me.

Marcie: Well, I don't know, but I'll try. I think maybe you should go to Chuck and tell him yourself.

Peppermint Patty: No, Marcie, I'll just ruin everything. You know I'm too brusque and rough. You go and speak for me.

Marcie: Well, okay.

I saw about fifteen seconds of this while channel surfing the other night, and thought out loud, "how shitty would that have been to be a young boy, voicing a cartoon character for a TV show, king of the block in the 1960's, only to find out you were Peppermint Patty...". Had to be a boy doing her voice, if it wasn't Mel Blanc.

Voicing for Peppermint Patty has bounced back and forth between girls and boys over the years. The Thanksgiving special did happen to be a boy. Must have been awkward in the recording studio, since she keeps hitting on Chuck.

What I found weird is how Lucy seems to disappear later in the show after pulling the football away. I'll admit I wasn't watching that closely, but she's not at the dinner with Linus. Is she roaming the neighborhood with her football, looking for other suckers to trick?
