Applies for Jeopardy, gets diagnosed with cancer, gets selected, tells the producers that she wants on and wants to donate her winnings to cancer, and then wins.

Well, the best thing you can learn from her is to get your colonoscopy early. Colon cancer is one of the few preventable cancers and can be treated if detected early.

She was 41 when she died. I don't believe colonoscopies are routinely done on people that young.

A colonoscopy cannot prevent cancer.

I will be getting my first at 40. Given the family history, I'm pretty much a lock for it. #moonriver

Given the fact that polyps turn cancerous and can be cut out prior to turning cancerous it's not a stretch to say removing polyps prevents those polyps from turning cancerous.

Colonoscopies can be done on people in their 30s. They just typically do them because the average person in that age group is not necessarily at risk. Colon cancer runs in families and people who have a blood relative who was diagnosed are encouraged to get their colonoscopy 10 years before their nearest relative was diagnosed.

Where people go wrong on this is that they very often refuse to go for the test until they have serious symptoms, which is often after the cancer has grown significantly. Older guys who refuse to go to the doctor sometimes get the bad news when they finally get a colonoscopy.

Poor old Walt has a polyp in the duodenum. It's benign, but--ooh--still a bastard.
