so yeah our guy shia lebeouf decided to do some "art exhibit" called http://www.hewillnotdivide.us which is basically a webcam outside of the museum of motion pictures in manhattan with words on the wall that say HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US, and i presume that everyone is supposed to show up for the next 4 years and chant "HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US!" as a perpetual protest of donald trump.

obviously, you know NYPD loves this because they gotta keep a unit over there a whole bunch because of the obvious..... that shia lebeouf can't handle the banter and will end up getting arrested for assaulting the haters.

internet aristocrat put up a video today that covers most of the good stuff from the first few days, and shia lebeouf getting arrested for assaulting a hater = perfect way to cap off the video!

obviously what passes for "art" nowadays is beyond a fucking joke (seriously, jackson pollock has legit skills compared to a lot of people nowadays) but yeah... seriously, no way this thing lasts four years, right? how long do you think it will go?

and, of course, the fundamental irony of people going out of their way to chant HE WILL NOT DIVIDE US for 4 years straight @ trump = holy shit, am i the only one who sees how fundamentally ironic and retarded this whole deal is? at the very least you're trying to claim that everyone's naturally anti-trump except he came in and divided people and i mean, as a trump-enjoyer (not to be confused with a trump-supporter) i mean.... wow. where's skip bayless and the prisoners of the moment to play a much needed live show when you REALLY need them?

Shi is nuts but I really do think he is an artist. He doesn't just sit back in some gated mansion only appearing to take on bubble gum roles when they come his way. He takes on oddball shit where he puts himself out there for abuse. Now, I think has been kind of douchey ever since I saw he and his mom on the behind the scenes cut of the Project Greenlight movie he did, but at least he is courageous in his art.

The internet is amazing. I want you to imagine this. You are a rich celebrity who has starred in numerous hit films. Fans from around the world adore you, the press treat you like a god, your life is damn near perfect. One day you decide you want to do an art project to protest the recent Presidential election. What could possibly go wrong?

So you come up with the idea of holding a 4 year long livestream declaring that you will not be divided. The papers praise it, news outlets say how avant garde it is, you just know it will increase your stardom even further than it had been before. You work out a deal with an art museum, get the camera set up, and prepare to be hailed as a genius.

But then something unexpected happens; the internet. At first it's just some light mockery on social media and a few out of the way imageboards but soon that snowballs into people showing up in person to troll. For the first few days you hold out fairly well; trying your best not to let it bother you. However as each day passes you get slightly more angry. You start to fray a bit around the edges and it begins to show.

This only encourages the trolls. Now people are actively watching your project not for its message but to see you have a breakdown. And eventually that happens. You snap, you get physical with one of the trolls from the internet and the museum pulls the plug. But remember you are a celebrity; you can't take no for an answer.

You decide you won't let those evil frog loving nazis win so you come up with a plan B. You move the exhibit halfway across the country to a smaller venue. Surely it'll be safe there?

Wrong.

It takes only mere hours this time for the trolls to show up whereas the first attempt it had taken days. Once again they begin to taunt you and mock your art. Then suddenly just a few days in, gunshots. Once again your exhibit gets the boot.

So what now? They just keep showing up. How do you stop that from happening? You formulate a new approach. This time you are going to have it be a silent exhibit, no details on the location, just a flag, a camera, and nothing else. Checkmate internet assholes. What can they possibly do now?

Well apparently they can use the position of the sun, the wind, car noises, animal noises, and airplanes overhead to pinpoint the exact location of your flag - hop the fence guarding it - and run a MAGA shirt and hat up it. All in the span of 36 hours.

Agree or disagree, that's pretty fucking fantastic that they were able to track down that specific flagpole.

He relocated it to Liverpool and it lasted all of 24 hours. People scaled a fucking 5 story roof to get it.
