Met fandom seems like an act of futility.

We are kind of fools here fighting over the crumbs of two championships in a century. You would have to be mentally ill to live in New York and not be a Yankee fan.

when i went to shea stadium in sept 2008 i remember going off to one of their smoking sections [CIVILIZATION!!!!!] and having a smoke with a mets fan. he asked what i thought about shea and i was trying to be diplomatic like "uhhhh, it's certainly rustic.... i mean it takes you back to the bygone era of the 60s with the ballpark layout and..." and he cut me off to go "NO.... IT'S A DUMP..... BUT IT'S OUR DUMP AND DON'T YOU EVER FUCKING FORGET THAT!!!!!
